Bone Densitometers
Bluestone Diagnostics carries bone densitometers from Hologic and Lunar. Bone densitometers are a specialized type of diagnostic imaging equipment used for bone density scanning, a practice that is also known as dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) or bone densitometry. This technique is used to measure bone mineral density (BMD). Bone densitometers are most often employed in the diagnosis of osteoporosis and the tracking of treatment of osteoporosis and other conditions that cause bone loss.
